This is a modern neurological brace designed to encourage movement of the affected limb. For this reason, the healthy arm is fixed in place. This helps reduce compensatory movements and promotes maximum possible use of the affected arm.

The brace also stabilizes the torso, which is especially important when trunk control is impaired. If necessary, the healthy arm can be quickly released. Suitable for both the right and left side.

What is CIMT therapy?

CIMT (Constraint Induced Movement Therapy) is a rehabilitation method intended for people with weakness or reduced control in one arm, most commonly after:

• stroke,
• neurological injuries,
• traumatic brain injuries,
• cerebral palsy,
• nervous system disorders.

How does CIMT therapy work?

The healthy arm is:

• restricted,
• fixed,
• or specially limited with a brace,
• so the patient is forced to use the affected arm more actively.

Practical use

The patient wears a special brace or fixation device on the healthy arm while actively using the weaker arm for:

• grasping objects,
• dressing,
• exercises.
