Feet exercises for children/teenagers in a group

Our feet can be described as the foundation of our posture. If the foundation is unstable or in an irregular position, this is likely to cause problems in the structures above. Medical foot conditions are becoming more frequent due to wearing of improper footwear, underrated walking barefoot, also the surfaces, on which we walk (asphalt, tiles, parquet, etc.), and the lack of physical activity. Our feet are becoming weak, dysfunctional, deformed, and painful.

For children and teenagers, it is particularly important to incorporate exercises that improve foot function into their daily routine, not only to prevent the development of flat feet (pes planus), ankle instability, or ankle pronation, but also to ensure the correct posture of the whole body in the future.

This exercise focuses on:

  • Developing toe mobility;
  • Improving ankle range of motion;
  • Strengthening the small muscles of the foot;
  • Strengthening the deep and superficial muscles of the shin;
  • Training balance and coordination.

Recommended:

  • For those with foot pathologies (e.g., flatfeet, bunion, ankle pronation, etc.);
  • For those feeling fatigue, pain, or tension in the feet or ankles after prolonged standing or walking;
  • For the prevention of the development of an abnormal foot structure.

Not recommended:

  • In acute, post-injury periods;
  • In chronic inflammation.
